Bourjois Rouge Velvet Lipstick Set

I’m Of Asian origin so if you’ve got a similar skin tone this might be useful to you. You can’t get it wrong; the products are cheap and even if you don’t like all the colours it’s still worth buying the lot! Also, if you look at the second line ( paler colours) on my skin, it shows how you can just mix the colours with the nude tone to make it lighter. In fact, I sometimes mix those colours with other lipsticks. Initial sensation of the lipstick is sticky and a little bit stingy but within seconds you can’t feel anything. I’ve got sensitive skin and it hasn’t reacted negatively on me. The lipstick is long lasting, comfortable to wear, doesn’t leave trace on cups... I’m well impressed given how I normally buy expensive ones- I really can’t believe how great those ones are. Whether they are genuine or not, to be honest I don’t care because they are doing a better job than most of the other range I’ve got including Dior, Clinique, MAC... I wish there were more colours - I would definitely buy again!

I love this range as it has decent staying power and doesn’t dry my lips as some of the higher end products I’ve bought recently. Thick, glossy and stayed put without sticking to the teeth - and felt as if they were moisturising the lips at the same time. Ok so I won’t wear all of the shades, but for the price it was worth buying and taking a gamble. Having very fair neutral skin, two of the shades were very wrong for my colouring, that said the dark reds/ burgundy were great. This cost less than a single lipstick in this range at Boots, so why wouldn’t you - 5 for less than 1. Even if you only use 3 of them, it’s still an absolute bargain.

I thought they're almost definitely fake for the price but they were cheap so I decided to give it a go. On the left is a genuine bourjois velvet matte lipstick and on the right are the ones I've recieved. I've gone over and compared them all to the genuine product, from product design to scent to consistency and found they're all pretty much bang on to the genuine product. I'm not sure why they're so cheap, perhaps its overstock or just an old batch. They don't have a very pleasant scent (not like odd but kind of industrial if that makes sense?) and I think a lot of people don't like it because it doesn't apply like a normal lipstick. I use it also for blush and one thing thats always been obvious is that you need to blend the product regardless if where it is otherwise it'll smudge/ be patchy. its made to leave a nice tint to your lips and once its on and blended won't smudge/ transfer much. I'd recommend making sure your lips are well moisturised and apply lip balm before using so that when it dries it doesnt settle into fine lines. Overall I really likes these products and since you need so little they do last ages.

This pack is a fantastic value for money as it contains so many beautiful shades in the actual size sold on the shelf. I like mixing the shades to get the colour that I want. The product feels like velvet on the lips, it spread well and it is opaque in 2 layers. It lasts all day without bleeding or feathering, but it does help if you want to use a lip liner as well. I hope Bourjoix never discontinues these as I will be purchasing again. Also, they make a great gift as they come in a lovely little box.

good and branded product but I wonder if it's the real thing considering the price I tried the product and colours are nice but the product chips and makes lips look dry and weird after a while unlike the ones I buy from the same brand at local superdrug

This lip color is the best I have ever experienced. It provides moisture while keeping my lip color looking fresh and vibrant for a very long time that I rarely need a retouch. It is so long lasting and it feels great on my lips. This is definitely one that I will continue to keep in my vanity. I don’t like the fact that I run out quickly.

Not too sure why I bought it. Probably out of curiosity what a £1.20 lipstick is like. The answer is - not great. Patchy colour, doesn't stay on your lips, smells horrible and cheap. The worst thing is that the scent is so strong, you can taste it in your throat. These are going to the bin.

Nice quality, lipsticks with a great range of colours for the price. If you like matte lipsticks then this a really good purchase.
