Great P-bass Pickup!
I bought this because of the solder-less process and the extra tone and volume pots and the extra jack. I have a Squier Classic Vibe P-bass, and it's a very good bass for the price, but I figured that there must be something missing, and so I was thinking of either the EMG Geezer or the SD 1/4-Pounder, and the solder-less option and extra pots and jack won me over. I don't know how the 1/4-Pounder sounds, but I know that if I got it, I would have to get extra pots to replace the mini pots, wires and jack, where this EMG Geezer pickup came with everything. It sounds excellent... It just got that extra vibe and definition that I didn't hear before over the stock pickup, even if the tone was turned down. The installation was easy, but the only thing was the shafts are solid shaft and slightly bigger, so I had to buy 2 different knobs ... no biggie. The jack is also better than stock. I am just happy happy! Recommended!

If you want to sound like Black Sabbath here you go
I have three sets of geezer butlers in my squire precision bases, they're 100% upgrade from the stock pickups good quality sound good bottom end with a good mid punch the highs are there too but they're nice and warm they're not pinchy, great value for the money,

Did not disappint and so easy to install my dog could have done it for me.
Super easy install. I can solder but these are so simple anybody can install it. I needed new pots too so that it comes with everything was wonderful. Good tone pot too as it doesn't just fall off. Very gradual. Good P-bass sound with just a little bit of grit. I have these set up with a set of GHS brite flats and absolutely love it. Velvety smooth instead of muted tones when cranked down or just wonderful sound with a little bit of bite turned up.

What else can be said?
These are well reviewed, and for good reason. Clear, punchy, articulate, deep lows, glassy without being harsh highs. Take effects well. They are in full beast mode with some overdrive, but sound full fat and clean toned down for some Motown flavored stuff. This is the P bass sound in my head. They replaced a Fender Original pickup, which is also a wonderful pick up that I had no reason to change, but I did! These seem to have a little extra special sauce. The Fender Original up will go to my other P bass that is wearing LaBella flats. I think it will work out well there. One word of caution to the "vintage" (expensive) tone cap aficionados out there (you know who you are)... You will be beyond horrified when you finally pick out the very tiny surface mount cap on the supplied tone pot! It is the tiny spec mounted to the PCB attached to the tone pot. Prepare to be confused when you hear how freaking awesome the tone control works and you finally realize all the hype about PIO, Orange drops, Bumblebees and whatever else is simply not true... Great P bass pick up, for a great price supplied with everything you need to drop them in.

Perfect option for upgrading a P-bass - no compromises in tone or construction quality.
I've owned my P-bass for 33 years now and have dropped a number of different pickups into it over the years. This set is the keeper. It offers a tone profile that is faithful to the original P-bass tone but with a little more output and clarity. Closest tonal comparison would be the Seymour Duncan SPB-1, but with more oomph and body. Great rock tone with the tone wide open, which isn't surprising, considering the tone was modeled after Geezer Butler's old P. Slap tone is heavenly - pure 70's funk. I would also mention that as someone who is very comfortable soldering instrument electronics, I was a bit skeptical of EMG's plug and play system for connecting the pickup, pots, and jack. However, I am officially converted. The wires and connectors are high quality, make solid connections and allow for a very easy upgrade. The pots have excellent sweep and are smooth in operation. Can't recommend this enough for someone seeking to cop a classic P-bass vibe without hassles.

Great!
Other guys are saying these took minutes to install. It took me 5 minutes just to take off my pickguard and knobs. The entire process took about 2 hours, but had a few hickups. The directions are ok, the video is decent. The price is awesome. Anyway they sound much better than my V Mod ii's. End of story

Easiest install ever
I picked these pickups because they included the pots and everything else with it. It was an extremely easy install, everything is plug and play and even comes with a connector to hook up your bridge ground. If you are getting these for a brand new build you will need a bridge ground wire, Bridge springs, and foam. The instructions are very easy to understand. The pickups also sound way better than the stock squier ones. The finish on the pickups also look pretty good with a matte finish with the EMG logo.
