Read if you need an easy method to prepare and mix this product!!!! Also, add to oatmeal etc.
I've used Muscle Milk of various flavors for years. Technically, nutritionally, I can't say whether it is the best protein supplement out there. But it is a big name, I tried it, and I liked it. I read that they recently changed the formula and many people are saying it is harder to mix enough to get out the lumps etc. I have to admit, when I got my first jug of the new formula, they are right. It is harder to mix thoroughly. But I've experimented and have found a new and much better way to mix it. I have no problems with the following method. I was at WholeFoods (cross marketing? :-) ) and saw something called the blender bottle. It is a plastic jug that has a whisk ball in it. I chose the one that is about a quart, approximately 30oz or 780mL in capacity. (Note they are cheaper on Amazon). I first thought that simply diluting the mixture to that volume and using the blender bottle would do the trick. But I have always mixed with skim milk. I think it tastes better and you get the extra protein/calcium/vit D punch. While this was a pretty good solution, I found a way to improve it, and the taste, and the "punch" even more. We always have about 1-2 cups of coffee left over in the morning. So now I fill the blender bottle about 1/2 way with coffee, put in ONE scoop and shake. This mixes easily. Then I add the second scoop and shake. This mixes pretty well/easily since it is more like water and not milk. Then I top off the second half with skim milk. So it mixes easily, and I get an even better flavor and punch from the addition of the coffee and milk. I work out in the morning before work, so this is a GREAT way to start the day. I prepare it the day before and it is chilled and ready to go in the morning. The flavor of the product is very good if prepared as described above, and it is easy to mix. I am getting over 60gm of protein with this preparation and lots of vitamins etc. It is an effective boost for my morning weightlifting and holds me over to lunch. Hope this helps somebody, please click helpful if you thought it was!! It is now about 6 months later and I want to add a couple things to my review. I am still using this product but alternating months between chocolate and vanilla for the variety. The difference is that I am rarely using it simply as a drink. More often these days I am adding it to other foods. For example, most mornings I am eating oatmeal (1/3 c with 2/3c skim milk 3 mins in microwave) with one healthy scoop added after cooking. Or adding it to plain greek yogurt, with a sprinkle of granola and fresh fruit. You can add it to many things, you imagination is the only limit. It is a great vanilla or chocolate flavored sweetener since it has a stevia in it with the added benefit of bringing the protein. I've seen some recipes that even use it for healthier form of cookie like treat. If you have any ideas leave a comment, I'd be interested to hear. One other thing, I should clarify that when I mix it with coffee I do it with coffee that has already cooled. If you put it in hot coffee it just lumps up.

Pro Series Chocolate
This was my first experience with protein powder. I work lifting lots of heavy objects, I was always sore after work and when I woke up the next morning. I started taking this product and within two weeks I had noticed my muscles were more firm and most of the pain had gone away. I spent a lot of time to compare products before I made my purchase this was one of the cheapest in grams of protein per cost. Another thing I really like about this product is it is Casein protein based meaning it is slow digesting and gives my muscles access to protein all night while I sleep to help growth and repair. Another note is this is one of the few products I found that also is enriched with vitamins and minerals, a plus for me. I mix this with a spoon in a glass with milk, it remained a little chunky but I kinda like the little dry chewiness I get when mixing it with a spoon (adding more milk the rest of the powder will dissolve as well but then I felt like I was adding too much milk). Mixing with water more of the powder dissolves but I think it tastes so much better in milk. Using a blender or a bottle will probably make the powder dissolve easier and faster. (I later got a new product with fewer grams of protein per scoop and found it dissolves much easier in the milk, probably due to the lower protein content). As someone who hates milk plain this product was great to give some flavor to my milk while also adding the protein that my body needed. This product does contain a small amount of artificial sweeter but I found that it was hardly noticeable when mixed with milk. Also the after taste was near zero when mixed with milk, in water the after taste was much more noticeable. Overall I found this to be a really great product at a good price. It has great flavor and provides your body with what it needs. Highly recommend this to anyone who needs to add some protein to their diet.

Most excellent muscle pain relief
My muscles knot up a lot and just plain hurt. I have a physical job and stay very active I drink 1 16 oz glass of this a day and my muscle pain goes away also this has a lot of vitamins and minerals. I have been out on my e bike and my muscles were hurting a lot ,I had a glass of this muscle milk and no more muscle pain .the taste is very good ,similar to a very good chocolate cake batter. My two complaints are I would like to see this in a 5 pound container and the price for 2.5 pounds at $30 is a little high but it is still worth it for me.this stuff has also help me lose fat from my belly and sides.I mix this in a blender.

Good flavor and decent value
I've been using this product for years. It dissolves readily, and the taste is one of the best of all the protein powders that I have tried. I prefer to mix mine with vanilla-flavored almond milk vs. water. I think it gives it a better taste and consistency. It is still ok with water though. I had to mark down the value for the money though. I just went to reorder as I am getting close to empty on my current bottle. It appears as if the 2.54 pounders are now 2 pounds. The 2.54 pound bottles in stock with the suppliers now cost as much as the 5 pound bottles. Still the price beats anything I have seen in the local grocery stores for the same product.

Surprisingly yummy
I am not a chocolate fan especially in protein shakes - taste fake. I was thoroughly and pleasantly surprised when I got this. It was on sale and cheaper than the vanilla. Very tasty, did not take like cheap chocolate but was nicely rich. After trying it straight with almond milk, I started trying out blending it with supplemental powders. It also blends very well with what I like to add for antioxidant boosts (turmeric powder, chai seeds, and even a dash of pure cocoa powder). I have it after every workout and am very pleased with the taste and the results I’m seeing at the gym.

Great for Celiac Disease and Soy Interolerance
This is a great alternative to other expensive plant-based protein powders. It works well after a workout and I notice a difference in my bodies ability to rebound and is also helps defines muscles in time. The taste is better than the 310 plant-based shake in my opinion. Having Celiac, most brands are loaded with whey and soy, which creates very unpleasant symptoms, this one is smooth with no unfortunate symptoms!

Best protein powder your money can buy
I have been using this for several years and is now the only protein powder that I will use. It tends to mix horribly if done in a cup/glass, but mixing it in a Blender Bottle allows the powder to mix smoothly instead of cake up. The flavor is great and the protein quantity is high at 50 grams per 310 calories with two scoops.

Decent (only tried once a couple years ago)
Not bad but compared to other brands I’ve tried it doesn’t live up to the hype. This was one of my first protein powders so maybe I’m forgetting the taste and stuff but it wasn’t memorable for me. Maybe they’ve change the recipe or macros, I don’t know, but I’m a fan of other brands now so may never know.
