AMT AMT1088 1:25 1940 Ford Sedan Gasser, Multi

I built several of these when I was a kid in the 60's from stock to street and strip to circle track race cars. Basically the same kit. I found the included 1939 parts to be good but the 1940 hood fits better on the left side. I built the 39, brought back a few memories of one I built when I was 11 or 12yo. Fun easy kit, I built it stock with the included 1939 parts. That gets it most of the way to a model of the 39 ( the real 39 has a different dash and the wipers are mounted above the windshield rather than below). It came out nice. I'd give it 5 stars if that 39 hood fit better along the cowl.

I just getting my 1939 ford out of the body shop . So the 1940 model is just like it and is fun to build. All the parts are good and you can build the car in different ways.

Loved the different ways you can build this model trying to combine some options was a bit painful but it does work. Over all a good model for the price.

Haven't had an AMT model in many, many years but it appears to be the same high quality as I remember them.

Very nostalgic it has the same deformation, a diagonal crease on the front fenders. Still uses the metal rod axles. The kit was well detailed for the time. I may buy one more to make a 39 sedan. I guess it must be the cost of styrene plastic, as these molds are very old.

A poor model kit with lots of flashing and small amounts of detail. A very skimpy guide to go by also , but I think when finished it will be ok . I was disappointed in AMT on this one , as it looks like a kit from many days gone by .

After opening the box and see in the car I didn't have the heart to make it a gasser it's beautiful the way it is
