From what I gathered, Hannah got murdered during the exorcism - well - the demon did - and yet came back to life twice... How in the world would that level of demonic strength Allow Hannah to feel empathy towards one person not to mention nobody else in the morgue? NO. Also, I watch demonic possession movies to be thoroughly freaked out by the demon mainly and that part of it pretty much ruined it for me.I did feel for Megan's character but this was more of a psychological film than horror in a way. The same idea was used in the Evil Dead Remake only it was H, and I would watch that over this-- guess this is a double review - the remake was not as good as the original evil dead films but you get my point.. this movie dragged that part of it out a bit too much I feel, with not enough of a focus on the actual possessed character. It was unique but I wouldn't watch it again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rented this as research for another purchase *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on July 6, 2020* I love horror movies. Campy, serious, intense, funny, don't care, love them. Posession movies are my specialty. I guess being raised as a Catholic all those years ago have something to do with it. It touches a raw nerve in me somewhere. The primary reason I rented this movie however, was because as I was researching buying a new camera (Sony a6600), I had read an article where the production for this movie decided to do something different. Rather than shoot the movie on the typical Arri/RED or even Cannon C series digital cinematography cameras, they shot the whole movie using Sony a7iii cameras. I was intrigued to see how close it came to replicating big budget movies with a sensor that was more or less the same as the one I was looking at buying.Needless to say, I was not disappointed. I work in the movie industry and I can look at color grades, edits and composites and pick movies apart (and I often do). I could certainly do that here as well. But the fact that they show it with a prosumer camera (albeit with million dollar glass) and framed the shots to play to the camera's strengths, I felt this movie held up extremely well against anything put out on those other cameras. So if your a cinematography student looking for a case study in how to maximize your production value on a budget. This is a great example.BTW... the movie wasn't bad either.
